MCC - The home of Village Cricket

Welcome to Milland Cricket Club – better known throughout the local area as the MCC. Where the original MCC can be dated back to 1787, we can only boast cricket being played here since the 1940’s. Some of those players are still about, and believe they could show this new generation of players a thing or two!
Our MCC’s role remains as relevant as the real MCC. From guarding the games spirit to promoting cricket to young people, Milland Cricket Club is committed to the good and the fun of the game.

Milland is situated on the proximity of three counties, West Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey. Located in what has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty and officially part of the Sussex Downs, the ground, known amongst the players, as the “Field of Dreams” couldn’t ask for a better place to host its games.

Our approach to cricket at Milland is relaxed; we like to enjoy the game with cold Scrumpy and in a friendly atmosphere. The games our typically played in a forty-over format with the mid-way break offering a wonderful spread of sandwiches, cakes and a nice cup of Yorkshire tea, or a cold beer.

As part of the clubs desire to show its appreciation for former players, the club plays an annual match, “The Mick Laycock Memorial Ashes”, played between Milland and The Skulking Loafers, in memory of a dear friend and a great club member to both clubs.

Looking to the future, MCC is investing heavily in the “Field of Dreams” – its home – to ensure that the ground remains first-rate as well as maintaining its already legendary status. For example, the club has developed the facilities and ground, with the introduction of portable nets last spring '07, a new scoreboard, and are looking to introduce coaching in the near future.

We will again be taking part in CricketForce(CRICKET FORCE 2008)where we hope to work on the clubhouse interior and exterior.
